After nearly two decades of mastering his craft in writing and performing, Patrick Roe began the 21st century touring his seminal debut album Vicky. Originally based in Switzerland, his younger years saw him pursue his passions across the world, inspiring his 2007 follow-up album Journeys. His music ranges from soulful soft-rock ballads to more light-hearted songs showcasing a love for travel, late nights fuelled by coffee or worse, and life itself. Patrick’s talents see him jump with ease between moving, intricate piano playing and guitar-led tracks with Bossanova and Flamenco flavours, inspired by his time plying his skills in South America. Entering his 60s with no signs of ageing past his receding hair, Patrick’s third album Never Never Party, released in 2020, suggests he has no intentions to slow down. Tinging his lyrics with signature tongue-in-cheek, ironic platitudes, the sarcasm of the album’s title track is palpable.
